Harnessing Darkness in Shadow Work

Very often people associate shadow work with strictly "destroying" or "ridding" the darkness within. This is only a small fraction of what true shadow work entails. 

Shadow work is also wielding and harnessing the darkness, unearthing the lost treasures and gifts, the lost and disowned self and fallen aspects of our consciousness that is waiting to be discovered and integrated.

The soil awaits to be tended to – without tending to it healing and growth is anemic.

Your lost treasure includes your Darkness.
Darkness is just as important as the light,
If not more

Darkness doesn't mean negative, bad, evil.
It's what we do with our unconscious Darkness and the ways in which it guides us that makes it such

Conscious integrated darkness is primal power
Potent Medicine
It is Love
It's what makes you whole, balanced and authentic 

Darkness is creation and life
The most beautiful existence births in darkness
A seed begins in darkness in order to bloom
A new life is formed and developed in the darkness of a Mother's womb

Often seekers try to destroy or rid themselves of their very own most potent medicine. Or lean to the other extreme spiritual bypassing and trying to transcend the darkness to run in the opposite direction towards the light which is very common in modern spiritual circles

Your darkness may be the medicine you've been searching for all along.

You don't always need to bring in more light, but to harness your primal darkness

Your wounds don't always need light – but to feel immense embodied power of your darkness that makes them tremble from their very roots

Darkness has the power to shatter the false light within and strip the masks of light we wear

To stand the fuck up

Shadow work is pain whether you are trying to "rid of" your darkness or harness its power. When this new territory has been unlocked we may get the intense urge to run back to safety to cradle us in comfort from the pain, unknown, the messiness, fear and judgement. You've never been here before. Sit with it, breathe it into your bones. Call upon the darkness for the strength and stability to endure this territory, to grow with and into it.

Your darkness is beautiful
It is you in your authentic wholeness
