Authority vs Individual Crime and the Rise of Tyrannical Regimes

The majority of people live with the belief and fear that without government, overlords would take over and the world would be in pure chaos. What they fail to discern what's blatantly enmeshed into their existence is that the overlords did take over and called themselves government. The government is just the armed gang they are afraid would take over in the absence of government.

Government convinced their slaves that it was righteous and necessary to dominate and control every aspect of their lives for their own good and the good of society. The people believed it to be legitimate and they even demand to be ruled over by overlords through the political process and consenting to their own enslavement by voting them into power.

From one regime after another, all over the world and throughout history – the legitimate overlords called government and their obedient order followers have been solely responsible for the worst atrocities, oppression, the most theft, assault, murder, suffering, conflict, forcible domination, harassment and injustice ever inflicted on humankind. All of which were legal and justified under government legitimacy.

These crimes are carried out not by individuals acting on their own malice, but by individuals obeying orders, ignoring their own moral codes and consciences in favor of obedience to some imaginary external authority. Throughout history the perpetual injustice and suffering were a result of the morbidly obedient and order followers carrying out their demands.

The problem with society is not that man is inherently evil, but that so many are willing to obey government. The belief in government tricks good people into going along with legalized aggression and injustice and doing immoral things they normally would not do because it's ok if government and authority does it. Hundreds of millions have been murdered by their own government. Billions robbed, harrassed, terrorized and forcibly dominated and oppressed by the ruling class.

The 20th century was particularly brutal, with tens of millions of people dying at the hands of their own government. Wars happen because of obedient soldiers carrying out the commands of an imaginary authority. Tyrants like Mao, Hitler, Stalin and Lenin rose to power because the people obeyed and believed in authority. When entire nations fall victim to corrupt ideologies be it Nazism or Stalin's communism, the proliferation of these beliefs also assists in the growth of tyranny. The well trained indoctrinated conformists and crowds of thousands applauding the speeches of Hitler, the mob demanding Jesus Christ be nailed to the cross, the white invaders who celebrated the slaughter of those "godless" Redskins and patriots supporting and cheering on soldiers obeying the commands of bloodthirsty warmongers are more despicable than any street thug or private criminal.

The larger the population of a society, the more prone it is to tyrannical rule and the more brutal the tyranny will be. As the population of a society grows, the potential power of its government grows with it. Like a parasite who's growth is checked by the size of the host, the growth of state power is checked by the number of subjects under its control. Those in power always see the solution as more government control.

The people are far more likely to be oppressed by a ruling class of authority figures then some private gang everyone knows as illegitimate and immoral. Imagine a private gang trying to do what government does - extorting, and bossing everyone around. Then imagine how a well armed population would respond. The gang would fail quickly and all those who resisted them would be viewed as righteous heroes. But when people feel morally obligated to obey the politicians and order followers, any who resist are viewed as criminals even by friends and family.

The idea that we need to give a group of people permission to forcibly rob and control us so they can protect us from those who might forcibly rob and control us is pure insanity. If you don't trust people to run their own lives, why would you take some of them people to be in positions of power where they can violently control us and forcibly run everyone else's lives?

People believe we need government, the biggest thugs and thieves around to protect us from thugs and thieves. Government is not legitimate. Never has been, never will be. To create a huge all powerful predator, which is what government is, in the name of stopping predators is insane. What organization can protect your property by stealing your property? And who has taken more of your money under threat of force .... private people or agents of authority?

External authority and the obedience to it will always tip the scale and far exceed above individual crime. There's no comparison. Governments are the root cause of all the chaos in the world and all throughout history.
