The Two Roads to Awakening: Chosen or Forced
There are two roads to awakening.
One is chosen, the other is forced.
You can step willingly into the fire, or you can be thrown into it by relentless adversity and suffering
Either way, you will burn.
Either way, you will be shaped by the flames.
Both paths demand pain and sacrifice, whether you seek it or whether it is thrust upon you.
"Only a man who fully realizes the difficulty of awakening can understand the necessity of long and hard work in order to awake. Speaking in general, what is necessary to awake a sleeping man? A good shock is necessary. But when a man is fast asleep one shock is not enough. A long period of continual shocks is needed.”
- G. I. Gurdjieff, In Search of the Miraculous
With everything unfolding in the world and all the astrological shifts, it is giving the world the opportunity to awaken out of it's slumber.
The call is louder than ever, unavoidable and staring the world down. The quest is no longer subtle, it is urgent. Ignorance at this point is a choice. Truth beats at the door, screams in our faces, yet they run. The universe has roared, yet they sleep. Many have been seduced back into the delusion. The only path now is to be thrown into the fire. The soul must be shattered.
They will have to endure great suffering to awaken, not just to see the world as it truly is, but to confront the deepest parts of themselves and who and what that really are. The blows must strike so hard they fall to their knees begging for mercy. It will need to be raw, relentless, and deeply personal until the very foundation of their reality is obliterated. Only when the pain outweighs all else, will they finally be ready to see. The resistance will persist. The ego will fight, cling, and try to escape surrender to the death and rebirth that must occur.
"Pain is the price the soul pays, to grow up... "
– V.H.Scorp
Awakening is a violent destruction until we are left bare, broken, standing at the edge of the abyss, forced to confront the inner and outer truths we have long avoided. It is a descent into madness over and over again. For only in the darkest depths can the soul ascend to its truest form.
